Say hello to Templeton Honors College senior, Abigail (Abby) Laird!
Abby is a Math major with an Astronomy minor. She is graduating in May 2026 with her Templeton cohort. As her final semester is wrapping up, we have asked Abby to share a favorite memory/ies of her time at Templeton.
“My favorite memories of Templeton are honestly just doing homework with other people (especially late at night) and all of the community activities. I also loved all of my all-nighters doing research at the observatory.”
Abby was recently awarded the St. Andrew’s Society Scholarship and will spend the 2026-2027 academic year in Scotland! While she is there, she intends to
pursue a MSc in Astrophysics.
“I am really excited to study somewhere with a cool history, keep studying stars, walking around the ruined castles and seeing the puffins in Scotland! I am also excited to go to a Ceilidh (Scottish dancing!).”
Until then, Abby will spend the summer soaking up quality time with her family, going to lots of weddings (including her younger sister’s), and making some money “so [she] can eat in Scotland!”
Congratulations, Abby! We are so proud of and excited for you.
