Dr. Rasmussen is an Assistant Professor of English at Eastern University, teaching classes in literature and composition. He teaches The Art of Rhetoric for Templeton students and an honors elective course on John Milton. and His research focuses on the intersection of literature and classical rhetoric, as well the pedagogical implications of those intersections.

Before teaching at Eastern, he attended Nyack College for undergraduate studies and completed his PhD in English Literature at Baylor University. His dissertation, Raphael’s Rhetoric: The Progymnasmata in Paradise Lost, looks at classical rhetoric and moral formation in John Milton’s epic. Outside of school, he is an avid fan of the New York Yankees who enjoys board games, hiking, and playing bass guitar. He and his wife live in Pennsburg, where his wife works as the ESL Chair of the Perkiomen School.
